Kenya and Tanzania : Adventure, Wildlife and Culture.

The East African countries of Kenya and Tanzania will provide you with a rich array of extraordinary experiences that are simply unforgettable. You will serve, teach, coach, explore, challenge, embrace fear, and celebrate life over three extraordinary weeks. The students of ‘St Judes’ teach you how to dance African style. If you are ‘white’ you will discover that ‘we CAN’T dance … not like our East African peers. They just got it !’  You will live with their teachers in their homes. You can explore the extraordinary wildlife of Ngorongroro Crater, Manyara or Tarangire, where you will witness the awesome power of nature. You might choose to climb Mt Meru and/or the ‘Roof of Africa’, Kilimanjaro, and finally you can rest on the pristine beaches of Zanzibar. What is more, maybe none of that will be your highlight for travelling with you will be an extraordinary environment of fun, acceptance and openness embraced by all.

The significant differences between December’s expeditions and January’s “Run to the Roar” is the inclusion of David Sheldrick’s Elephant Orphanage (http://www.sheldrickwildlifetrust.org) and the exploration of Kibera – Africa’s second biggest slum with a wonderful Kenyan youth development organisation called ‘Mirror of Hope’ (http://mirrorofhopecbo.org). While “Run to the Roar” in January embraces ADVENTURE with the additional hiking of Mt Meru as a wonderful preparation for the 7 day Machame camping trek of Kilimanjaro. Both itineraries are a stunning variety of servitude, adventure and community building experiences requiring from you courage, resilience and a flair to explore!

Your challenge now is which one to enjoy…’Kilimanjaro Calling’ or ‘African Immersion’ in December OR ‘Run to the Roar’ in January.
